Web 2.0 Smackdown Prezi

I decided to do my Web 2.0 Smackdown on a website called Prezi.  Prezi is used to create presentations for virtually anything.  This can include a presentation for a class in college, presentations for educational purposes, presentations for marketing pitches, presentations for training new employees, etc.  Prezi is a great option because it is visually much more appealing and is more engaging for the audience than a regular Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.

As an aspiring event planner, I would imagine using Prezi mostly as a means to train new employees or give information about the venue to other professionals that may be involved with the venue for an event.  Because there are so many different professionals involved in putting together an event. it may be helpful to have presentations that include expectations, policies, rules, etc. of the venue.  The reason that Prezi is so great for collaboration is because it features collaborating tools.  The creator of the Prezi can easily share the presentation with any individual through email, also giving them the option to edit or view only.  There is also an option to create a specific link for the presentation which is a great option if the creator wishes to link the presentation to a blog post, social media post, or even in a mass email.

    Cara,
    I will definitely be checking this application out! I have always heard of Prezi but never used it. I like how easily it is to transition to the next point while keeping such a visually appealing graphic. Also, I like the collaboration tool which can be very helpful with teamwork. Do you think there is anything that Prezi is lacking or could improve upon?

    I have never used Prezi before and I think Im going to give it a shot! It looks great and seems pretty easy to use which are two of the most important things when it comes to using a program. I don't have to make many frilly presentations but if I ever have to Prezi seems like the way to go. What kind of presentations do you think work best with Prezi?

    I really enjoyed the presentation. I loved the clean, ease and functionality of the product. I have a group presentation due with another class and would certainly try this over PowerPoint. What do you think are the major differences between Prezi and PowerPoint?

    Cara this is such a great site! I used this a lot during high school before I discovered Google Slides in college. I think Prezi is a lot more engaging and dynamic than just a plain Powerpoint too! Do you like Prezi more than Google Slides? Are there any advantages for using one over the other?

    Hi Cara,
    Awesome presentation and post about Prezi! I have heard about this web tool but have never personally used it. Based on your presentation, I can see how easily this can be utilized in almost all fields of study. I was very impressed with the different features that were offered through it. While there are other tools that allow one to create presentations, it appears that Prezi allows easier access as well as more tools and options to maintain the attention of the audience.
